Typ QWS - Gate weather protection systems

The MBW gate weather protection type QWS 3 is reduces the cost of heating or cooling significantly and protects from inclement weather conditions.

The specific dimensions of the system (3400 x 3500 mm) are such that almost any truck type can be protected.

The weather protection system consists of a galvanized wall and front frame and a spreading mechanism in between these which with a construction depth of 600 mm folds to approximately 200 mm.

This system avoids damage to the weather protection equipment and the truck due to poor docking of the truck.

Mounted in the front frame are the side and head protections. Serially, different materials and thicknesses for side and head protections are available.


The MBW gate weather protection type QWS is also available as front-only frame (without spreading mechanism), fitting steel or concrete structures. Retrofitting the MBW gate weather protection systems is possible at any time.


Type QWS - S Special gate weather protection systems

The "Special gate weather protection systems" comprise all solutions for which tarpaulin weather protection systems type QWS do not provide the best solution to the problem. The photos illustrate only a part of the possibilities of fitting special weather protection systems to gates.

  • Push-out gate sealings are used for railcar or side loading. A similar type series makes it possible to seal the truck perfectly also where a concrete ramp is attached at front.
  • Inflatable weather protection systems enclose the truck with roof mounted refrigeration equipment in optimal manner.
  • So called thermal pads in combination with a slit tarpaulin head protection seal trucks with box bodies of different heights. Another weather protection version with head sections of thermal pads ensures maximum sealing in cold storages. This type is also available with height-adjustable head section.

All special weather protection systems are made of high-strength materials which are extremely resistant to abrasion, weather and are flame resistant, frost resistant and water tight.
